The AP reports today that supporters of Sen. Larry Craig with the American Land Rights Association are calling for a boycott of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport. The Battle Ground (Washington) based association says airport police who arrested the senator in a men’s room sex sting are responsible for weakening private property rights in the West.

Craig is a Republican member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. The American Land Rights Association, which has an office in Washington, D-C, advocates for the use of federal lands and against what it calls federal “land grabs.” The association says the airport should apologize to Craig for what it calls “ambushing” the senator.

So, let me see if I understand this perfectly: someone in a position of authority with the American Land Rights Association obviously thinks that it is perfectly acceptable and wholly appropriate to arbitrarily attempt to lay blame on someone, anyone, else for a closeted-gay hypocrite senator’s reprehensible sexual crime?

I mean really? How dare the Minneapolis airport and the police department have the nerve to thwart a senator’s attempts to have some hot and dirty, anonymous gay sex in a public men’s room in an airport?

Just who the hell do they think they are anyway?

Oh…they are upholding the law? They are doing their jobs? They are doing the very thing that this spineless turd, Craig, should have been doing?

Oooh, right. Oops.

Makes you wonder which of the staff members of the American Land Rights Association have also sought out hot and dirty, anonymous gay sex in a public men’s room. I guess it’s safe to say that, in Washington, when you have an organization in your back pocket, said organization is also up your ass, so to speak. Is that what they mean by “having your back”?

What happened to the good old days in this country when criminals were punished for their crimes, rather than exonerated and painted as the victims of conspiracy? I wonder how much longer we can continue to bullshit ourselves and everyone else into buying the notion that America is still the greatest country on earth when people like Larry Craig and the American Land Rights Organization seem to strive so valiantly to instead make us look like the biggest bunch of dim-witted hypocrites and assholes on the planet?

These people are freaking ruining our country.
